TrailJam 2026

8th May 2026

TrailJam 2026 - Tomorrow!
Just a reminder that this great annual event is taking place tomorrow so it’s not too late to join the fun. The weather is looking good so why not join the many others from all our groups around the District for as much or as little of the walk as you wish.

Attached is the letter with all the relevant information, a list of the possible start points, distances & times and the registration form to hand in at the park on your arrival. (More copies will be be available at the park but filling this it out in advance so you can simply hand it in on arrival saves time for both you and us.)

Please note that the railway crossing near Eagle Heights is now controlled by traffic lights so we will not have a marshall there. All leaders, parents, etc should of course ensure their young people are properly supervised throughout the walk but please pay special attention to this crossing. We are aware that many people stick to the path along the bottom at this point and don’t venture up the hill to this section. Whilst this is of course personal preference, for the sake of a few minutes climb, you are missing the best view of the whole route

The electronic route files in various formats or route maps can also be requested by sending Andy a PM. The gpx file should open in OS Maps if you have it, or many other apps if not. The kml and kmz files will open in Google Earth or Maps.me, which are freely available for download if you don’t have them already.

If you don’t fancy a walk, help at the park with registration and handing out snacks / drinks to our weary walkers would be much appreciated as always. If you can assist, just turn up at the park near the running track from 2pm. We should be done there by between 5 - 5:30pm so it won’t take too much of your day and will help things run smoothly. All leaders, assistants, parents or anyone else willing to lend an hand for some or all of this time are welcome.

Just a reminder, the Council allow us to use the park on the basis vehicle access is restricted to only those helping with the event, not participants or those collecting participants. Last year far too many vehicles were coming into the park. Please don’t!

Any questions either before or during the event, please call any of the organising team below. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow!
