Scout Section Nocturnal Event
11th October 2013
Thank you to all the Dartford Scouts and Leaders who made tonight's Nocturnal Adventure such a success. Despite the constant rain 15 teams took part and there were lots of happy faces all around the course. Only a few teams needed to be pointed in the right direction and most successfully completed the course. Thanks to all the leaders for supporting the event in testing conditions - in particular the fantastic team from Wilmington looking after everyone at the finish. However - the people that impressed me most were the Scouts from around the district - you were brilliant and can be very proud of yourselves - it wasn't very nice weather but you all turned up and did your best - we can't ask for more than that. Hope to see you all at the challenge evening next month.
I'm pleased that, despite the rain, I could read all the score sheets and we have a complete set of results.
The top three are the same in both competitions
Position | Team Number | Team name |
1 | 10 | 6th Warrior A |
2 | 16 | 8th B |
3 | 6 | 3rd A |
In the overall competition positions 2 to 6 are only separated by 12 points which shows it was a really close event.
Thank you to everyone that supported the event. I think it went really well and I'm sure the young people learned something about looking after themselves in the rain as well as clearly having a good time.
There will be trophies for the top three positions to be awarded at or shortly after the Challenge evening in November.
Please remember the Scout Leaders Meeting at Scout House on Monday 21st October at 8pm. I would welcome your feedback on the Nocturnal at this meeting – what did your Scouts think. Friday or Saturday? longer route? Longer activities?
Hope to see you all at the challenge evening next month.
