26th World Scout Jamboree Participants Announced

Following a very hotly contested selection weekend, we are excited to announce the six successful candidates who will represent Dartford Scouts at the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027 are:
- Isla Bishop - 3rd Dartford (Fraser) Scouts
- Khylan Gomersall - Livingstone ESU
- Bailey Mackney - Stone (Wise) Scouts
- Jessica Parkinson - 3rd Dartford (Clive) Scouts
- Harry Steer - 3rd Dartford (Fraser) Scouts
- Sophie Yarde - 8th Dartford Scouts
They will now begin their challenge to raise £24,000 (£4K each) before the summer of 2027.

Once they have attended their first WSJ training camp with the rest of the three Kent Contingents, early in the New Year, we are sure our Poland Six will be keen to talk to your section about the WSJ and bring the international aspect to a section programme.
For now, we wish Bailey, Harry, Isla, Jessica, Khylan and Sophie every success in their fundraising, as they prepare for a trip of a lifetime.
Neil would also like to thank Em Gibson, Leigh Villiers and Kelvin Holford for arranging the selection weekend as well as the parent information evenings beforehand.
He was fortunate to be able to hear about the selection weekend from the young people, and then to be present at the subsequent selection discussions undertaken by the four independent assessors – Kate, Darren, Linnea and Sam.
The weekend was a massive, and very successful, undertaking – THANK YOU, Em, Leigh, Kelvin and all involved in delivering such a high-quality selection weekend.
