Network is open to everyone aged 18 - 25.  Leaders and instructors are automatically members, but you don't need to volunteer to be a part of Network.

Network do not meet regularly and venues will vary.

Awards in Network

The Queen's Scout Award is the top achievement for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members and comprises of a variety of activities to complete.

The Queen's Scout Award (QSA) is linked closely to the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award and it is worth working on the two awards together.

Chief Scout Platinum Award

To complete this award a Network Scout needs to:2df441b8b40ecbc5e2b9e52eb48103da.png

  1. Complete 2 activities (from 2 different sections) from the Platinum EIV list.
  2. Be a member of Network or Explorer Scouts for at least six months.
  3. Complete six nights away as a Network or Explorer Scout of which four must be camping.
  4. Hold the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, or complete the four Platinum Chief Scout                          Challenges.

Chief Scout Diamond Award

To gain the Chief Scout's Diamond Award, members must complete the following:6ff49f54993de917bba163a6a3c3735a.png

  1. Be a member of Explorer Scouts or the Scout Network or both for at least 12 months.
  2. Complete 12 nights away as an Explorer Scout or member of the Scout Network, of which                  eight must be camping.
  3. Complete 2 activities, from 2 different sections and different activities from those completed            for  the Chief Scout Platinum Award.
  4. Hold the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, or complete the four Diamond Challenges.

   The Explorer Belt is a challenge of a lifetime. It is a chance to take part in a ten day expedition that brings        you a real understanding of a different country, its culture and way of life.  You will develop this                          understanding by travelling through your chosen country, working as part of a small team to complete a         series of projects and most importantly by meeting local people.  It is an experience and an achievement                                        that you will remember for the rest of your life.

      Scouts of the World Award (SOWA) is a Scout Network only award that gives Scout Network members the         chance to undertake a project of their choice within the themes of Peace, Environment and Sustainability         and take action on their chosen issue.

      Through your Scouts of the World Award journey, youíll develop skills and knowledge that will empower                                          you to undertake a project that will make a sustainable impact on your local, national or international                                              community, while developing your personal skills.

                                    Youíll learn skills including independence, team work, project planning, time management and                                                           communication skills, while gaining an understanding for global issues and international relations. You                                           donít have to go abroad to complete your Scouts of the World Award. Local and national projects are                                               acceptable, as long as all requirements of the award are being met.
