Message from Neil Gearing

I was very pleased to visit 1^st Sutton-at-Hone Scout & Explorer camp at Thriftwood campsite recently to present Tony Lawrence with his long-awaited Wood Beads to recognise completion of his leader training.

While on camp I presented Jan Peeling with her 20-year Service award.

Although a very wet start to their camp, all were in good spirits and the sun shone while I was there.

The same weekend I went to Cudham Shaw Scout Campsite to see 3^rd Dartford’s family camp. Each family made a family ‘shield’.  There were some really great designs. Everyone was having a great camp.

Other camps run recently include Stone (Dartford)’s family camp at Shepherds Park, Sittingbourne. The photos show once again, they had a successful camp.

Also, both 8^th Dartford and The Brent (6^th Dartford) held ‘expedition challenge’ camps based at Hopehill, Gravesham.

My sincere thanks to every adult who was involved in planning and delivering these Night Away events.
