Young Leaders
Young Leaders
When members reach 14, they move onto Explorer Units, the next section within Scouting. At this point, they can also choose to be be a Young Leader, helping with a section, usually Beavers or Cubs within their own group. Given training via the Young Leaders Scheme, they play a vital role within the group by providing valuable support to adult leaders at meetings and outings. Not all young leaders come from within Explorer units or indeed have been members of Scouting previously, but this will not exclude any young person from becoming a Young Leader.
Regular training days and weekends are run by both District and Kent Scouts.
